Eco friendly packaging

ECOPAK

Eco-friendly Packaging (ECOPAK), a bioplastic packaging material made from locally sourced cassava as a sustainable alternative to single-use plastic packaging. Designed to biodegrade within 6 months and germinate embedded seeds after disposal.

Why Cassava? Cassava is widely grown in Malawi but highly perishable, with significant losses caused by rapid post-harvest deterioration. Instead of letting partially damaged roots go to waste, we use them to produce sustainable bioplastic, turning local waste into valuable, eco-friendly packaging.

Paper Packaging

Another line of packaging currently available on the market. Made from recycled paper sheets that could have been incinerated contributing to carbon emissions.

We are also advancing a Hybrid solution, coating paper packaging with our bioplastic to expand performance to meet wider packaging needs.
